From the moment we talked to each other on the phone and the first time we met in her office, we knew that Karen was the right person who could represent us at the court to reinstate our mother's Rogers/guardianship status which was expired for a couple of years.
We were pleased with the quality, attentiveness and responsiveness of the services. We found her very knowledgeable on elder law and always provide a clear explanation for the process. She responded to messages promptly and gave us timely updates as the case progressed.
We were extremely relieved when the case had been approved and completed. Again, we are grateful and appreciate Karen's professional effort and courteous service.

I was referred to Karen D. Law, Esq. in November 2010. It was necessary for me to gain legal guardianship of my incapacitated daughter at that time because she was turning age eighteen and was incapable of making decisions for herself.
In my first meeting Karen explained the possible options for me, even telling me that the Commonwealth didn't even require the presence of an attorney.
However, I had previously spoken with a different attorney who handles many guardianship cases in my school district. That attorney would not consider my case. She told me that she never accepts cases such as my daughter's. (My daughter is dual diagnosed with an intellectual impairment as well as serious mental health problems.) These cases are more complex.
I felt it was necessary to have the guidance of an experienced attorney. That was the best decision I ever made. Karen explained that most guardians complete the guardianship process once, and that nothing else is necessary unless circumstances change.
However, since my daughter has been prescribed anti-psychotic medication, the process is more complex. Doctors must file yearly affidavits. Treatment plans must be written every year. A Roger's monitor must describe what has happened each year in a Monitor's report. There were many requirements, and I needed help in navigating the system.
Karen worked with me throughout the process. She responded to my concerns and always returned my calls and answered my e-mails expeditiously. I felt I had a true ally in Karen.
I became the legal guardian and the Roger's monitor in May 2011. Karen reviewed the 60 day care/plan report that I prepared and filed in July.
Although Karen told me that I could probably handle the one year Roger's report myself, I asked her to provide assistance. We agreed upon a limited agreement which was very affordable. That review was filed in May 2012.
I have also called upon Karen's expertise in several other matters. Each time, she provided the advice I needed.
I will certainly retain Karen again if such a need arises.

After 3 months of assistance on a lawsuit contesting a Petition for Guardianship, I found Attorney Karen D. Lane hard working and focused on getting the Petition dismissed and my rights reinstated.
Attorney Lane, for her part, was pleasant during the investigation when speaking on the phone and in person.
I didn't have the need to go to court before the Judge because of her representation of me and the case was dismissed without going to hearing. Therefore I couldn't comment on her debate skills, but was pleased with her performance that led to the Petition of Guardianship being dismissed.

Ms. Lane is an outstanding attorney who represented my best interests over a 2 year period during my divorce. Ms. Lane was extremely knowledgeable regarding many aspects of my case including MA child support regulations, special trust funds, as well as preparing a thorough separation agreement. Ms. Lane was responsive to any questions I asked, and was also responsive to the attorney representing my ex-wife. Ms. Lane was also generous in allowing my fees to be paid upon conclusion of the case, and also was extremely reasonable in the fees she charged. I would not hesitate to recommend Ms. Lane to anyone needing sound legal advice and assistance.
